EVIDENCE OF THE SUBLIME: VEILS, PATTERNS, MYSTERIES (2017)
These mixed media collages are, for me, meditations on the layers of meaning found in the everyday, veiled messages floating beneath life’s surface. They are barely discernible patterns threaded through the universe, connecting all things. They point toward the interplay between intention and chance and suggest vast geographies seen from above.
The series represents multiple strands of an investigation into the possibilities of applying graphite, acrylic ink and India ink washes to two synthetic polypropylene papers, Yupo and Duralene, using juxtaposition and layering to create pattern.
